Stealth Clinics at The Overlake School this Weekend
The Washington Stealth will
hold two lacrosse clinics during the fall ball league at The Overlake School on
October 24. Stealth stars Ben Hunt
and Jason Bloom will be running the clinics, which are free and open to the
public.
Ten local lacrosse clubs take part in the fall ball league each Saturday from
12pm-5pm. The Stealth clinics will
each be an hour in length, taking place from 1pm-2pm and 3pm-4pm to give all
players the opportunity to attend one of the sessions. Hunt and Bloom will provide instruction
and techniques to assist players on all aspects of lacrosse, as well as drills
for players and coaches to use during the offseason. The Overlake School is located at 20301 NE 108th
St., Redmond, WA 98053.
In addition to the clinics, Hunt will make an appearance at Breakaway Lacrosse
in Bellevue. He will be available
from 10am-11am on Saturday, October 24 to talk lacrosse with fans and sign
autographs. The store is located
at 10830 NE 2nd Pl., Bellevue, WA 98004.
Hunt was selected with the 24th overall selection by the
Washington Stealth in this year’s NLL Entry Draft. He played in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) for the Washington
Bayhawks this past summer where he scored 9 goals and added 1 assist in his
rookie season.
Hunt is a 2009 graduate of the University of North Carolina. He had an outstanding career for the
Tar Heels where he was selected as a 2nd Team All-American after a
senior season in which he scored 17 goals and added 12 assists for 29
points. He also served as a team
Captain and was selected to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tournament
Team. As a junior, Hunt was a 3rd
Team All-American, selected to the All-ACC Tournament Team and was the team’s
Most Valuable Player after scoring 21 goals and 9 assists for 30 points.
A 2005 graduate of Ohio State University, Bloom is entering his fourth
season in the NLL. He played the
2007 and 2008 seasons with the Colorado Mammoth before spending 2009 with the
Boston Blazers. Was acquired by
the Stealth this offseason in a trade with the Blazers. In 35 career NLL games, Bloom has
recorded 20 goals, 25 assists and collected 112 loose balls.
Bloom was a two-time captain at Ohio State. Helped lead the Buckeyes to a conference title and the
school’s first DI NCAA Tournament berth his sophomore season.
