Account Executive, Ticket Sales - Washington Stealth (Everett, WA)

Position: Account Executive, Ticket Sales - Washington Stealth (Everett, WA)

Summary Description: The Account Executive is responsible for generating new business through the sale of Washington Stealth seating inventory. It includes the selling of Stealth season ticket, partial ticket programs, group seats, and single game tickets through cold-calling, face-to-face appointments and networking.
Reports To: Chris Kelley, Manager, Ticket Sales & Service

Duties & Responsibilities:
Sell Washington Stealth season tickets, partial ticket packages, group tickets, and other ticket products

  • Call past customers and cold-call new sales leads to generate sales
  •  Work all home games to support ticket sales promotional initiatives
  •  Provide excellent customer service and generate repeat business and referrals
  •  Serve as a positive representative of the Washington Stealth at all times
  •  Create opportunities for new business with existing customers through other programs
  •  Assist in the renewal and maintenance of full season ticket and ticket package accounts
  •  Participate during all Stealth games and other special events & promotional functions as required
  •  Participate and contribute to weekly sales team meetings and training sessions
  •  Conduct in-arena appointments and tours of Comcast Arena at Everett to assist in closing new business and developing new relationships
  •  Meet or exceed weekly, monthly and long term sales/prospecting goals in the areas of season ticket sales, partial ticket package sales, and group ticket sales
  •  Maintain electronic account records for the upkeep of customer relationship management database
  •  Evening Shifts may be required
  •  Prospect, establish, research and close premium seating sales leads through cold-calling, appointments and networking.
  •  Work closely with Community Relations & Marketing departments to achieve sales and prospecting goals

Qualifications & Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:

  •  4 year college degree or combination of equivalent education and experience
  •  Minimum of 2 years prior outbound sales experience required
  •  Prior sales experience in sports industry preferred
  •  Prior sales experience in Puget Sound market preferred
  •  Strong work ethic and a desire to build a career in professional sports
  •  Have a friendly and professional telephone manner
  •  Display an outstanding ability to listen well
  •  Work well in a team environment
  •  Effectively express ideas verbally and in writing
  •  Maintain a flexible work schedule
  •  Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills
  •  Ability to handle heavy phone volume, both outbound and inbound
  •  Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays as dictated by events

Sales & Service Internship

Introduction to the Sales & Service Department: 

As an intern in the professional sports industry; sale servicing is the biggest component of your duties. This doesn’t necessarily mean the actually sales of tickets, but relating the idea and the efforts of the team to the general public. The sales department will also be a great educational part of the intern experience. The sales department will be training in product/program knowledge and the ways to present the information to the general public in a way that will spark interest in participation with the Stealth. They will have duties and exercises weekly covering the following tasks and procedures:

 

The position will include:

  • Working at all Stealth home games; be available for Stealth community events and promotions
  • Staffing the Stealth guest services/Season Ticket Holder table on the concourse as liaison emphasizing customer service  
  • Assist with the planning and execution of group events
  • Organizing data for sales campaigns
  • Assist with the servicing of any group tickets, birthday party packages, programs and promotional ticket packages
  • Perform off-site errands and be involved in community outreach
  • Interact with employees and customers to assist in the resolution of problems and concerns
  • Organize and distribute season ticket holder gifts, birthday cards, etc…
  • Contribute to the common goals of the organization and demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills
  • Work with group leaders to develop and implement game day events and experiences that result in large ticket purchases and repeat business
  • Assist sales department with large mailings
  • Develop leads and contacts to become new customers to support both short-term and long-term growth objectives
  • Create awareness of team in local markets through business to business marketing
  • Perform Administrative tasks

 

Sales department timeline and execution:

 

Short term goals:

  • Program and product knowledge
  • Distribution of schedule posters and mini-schedules throughout the Greater Puget Sound area
  • Group research and data entry of relatable groups to promotional schedule
  • Sales training and overcoming common objectives towards potential sales

 

Long term goals:

  • Continued sales training specific to accrued situations i.e. conflict management
  • Ability to foster a group sales initiative from conception, execution and follow through
  • Foster confidence in the sales strategies and customer relation efforts of the Washington Stealth
