Vancouver, BC – Friday, March 23, 2018 – For the second time in a week the Stealth will play their western rival the Colorado Mammoth.
Vancouver will make the trek to the mile-high city on Saturday night, visiting Colorado for the second time this season. The last time the two teams played inside the Pepsi Center, the Stealth had the lead throughout the game until Colorado snuck back into it tying it up 9-9 before going on to take the 14-13 victory.
“Penney let in one goal that he wanted back, but if he stops that one then he is sitting at .800, that is all we can ask from him,” said Head Coach and Assistant General Manager Jamie Batley. “Even the goals he did let in, how can you fault him for a breakaway or three power play goals? I thought he played great and he was one of the stars as far as I am concerned.”
In last week’s outing against the Mammoth, Penney had a 0.778 save percentage and a 13-save fourth quarter performance.
“This week our big focus has been on game film from last week to see where we can clean things up,” said goaltender Eric Penney. “The great thing about playing a team in back-to-back games is the ability to understand your opponent. We have to come prepared, focused and ready to play.”
The game can be seen on NLL TV and heard on TSN Online, Jake Elliott will have the call at 6:00pm, while Brad Challoner hosts the pre-game show at 5:45pm.
After their meeting in Denver, the Vancouver Stealth will close their regular season with three straight games at home and then their final meeting of the year in Georgia. The next home game will take place on March 31st inside Langley Events Centre against the Calgary Roughnecks for Country Night.
Tickets to the next home game are available including single game tickets, 3-game Flex Packs and Boston Pizza Packs, which feature four tickets, one large pizza, four soft drinks and a cactus cut appetizer for $99 at all local Boston Pizzas. The Stealth are also offering Group Promotions for 10 or more tickets at a discounted rate.
