The National Lacrosse League announced today its selections for the 2011 All-Pro teams. Two members of the Washington Stealth were honored for their performances during the regular season; forward Rhys Duch a first team selection and Lewis Ratcliff named to the second team for the second straight year.
In just his third NLL season, Duch has earned his second All-Pro nod. He was named a second team All-Pro in 2010. He finished the 2011 regular season third in the NLL with 90 points in 16 games. His 42 goals were good for second in the league, including a league-high five game winning goals. Duch was also seventh in the NLL with 48 assists and grabbed 74 loose balls.
Duch has continued his regular season success in the postseason, tallying 11 points (4g, 7a) in the two games leading into this weekend’s NLL Championship Game. Duch led all playoff performers with 25 points (11g, 14a) en route to the Stealth’s first NLL title a season ago.
For the second straight year and the fourth time in his nine-year NLL career, Ratcliff has been selected as a second team All-Pro. Ratcliff finished the 2011 regular season in the top four in every major offensive category. He finished with 92 points (2nd in NLL), on 41 goals (3rd) and 51 assists (4th).
Ratcliff currently leads all playoff performers with 13 points (6g, 7a) in two postseason games. He tallied a game-high seven points on three goals and four assists in the Stealth’s 10-8 victory in the Western Division Finals over the Calgary Roughnecks to send the Stealth to the NLL Championship Game for the second straight season.
In a rematch of last year’s title game, the Stealth will face the Toronto Rock in the 2011 NLL Championship Game, presented by Progressive, on Sunday, May 15 at 11am PST at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario. The game will be broadcast live on Versus.
