Four Stealth Players Added to All-Star Game Roster

The National Lacrosse League has announced the reserves for the league’s 2011 All-Star Game, presented by the Oneida Indian Nation.  Washington Stealth forwards Lewis Ratcliff, Rhys Duch and Luke Wiles, along with transition player Paul Rabil, will represent the Stealth and the West Division in the All-Star Game.  The quartet joins Stealth defenseman Mike Grimes on the West All-Stars, Grimes named a starter in the game earlier this week.

Each of the Stealth players will be making their first appearance in an NLL All-Star Game, with the exception of Ratcliff, who will be appearing in his fourth. The game takes place at the Event Center at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York on Sunday, February 27 at 2 PM Eastern.

Ratcliff, who was named the All-Star Game MVP in 2006 as a member of the Calgary Roughnecks, leads the Stealth and currently sits sixth in NLL scoring with 30 points (11g, 19a).  Known throughout his career as primarily a goal scorer, the 2010 second team All-Pro selection has taken on the role of playmaker for the Stealth this season, his 19 assists tied for fifth in the NLL.

Duch, the 2009 NLL Rookie of the Year and a 2010 second team All-Pro selection, leads the Stealth with 15 goals this season, good for fifth in the NLL.  His 29 points are tied for eighth in the league.  Duch is tied for the league, scoring two game-winning goals in the Stealth’s three wins.

Wiles has taken his game to new heights in the absence on Stealth forward Jeff Zywicki, one of the NLL’s top goal scorers who was placed on the injured reserve list after the season opener.  Wiles has 23 points (12g, 11a) in six games this season.  In the last three games, he’s torched opposing defenses for nine goals and eight assists.

Rabil, widely regarded as one of the best field lacrosse players in the world, has solidified himself as one of the best transition players in the NLL.  Rabil is fifth in team scoring with 15 points (5g, 10a) and leads the team with 63 loose balls.  His loose ball total is also good for second in the league.

The NLL All-Star Game takes place at the Event Center at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York on Sunday, February 27 at 2 PM Eastern. The game will be televised live on VERSUS. Details on the Canadian telecast of the game will be announced soon.  For more information, visit
