Vancouver, BC (Friday, July 28, 2017) – The Vancouver Stealth announced today that they have signed Joel McCready to a two-year contract, pending league approval.

McCready is a three-time nominee as the teammate of the year from 2015-2017 including winning the award in 2015. He has played in 54 games with the Stealth organization where he has scored 78 goals, 61 assists for 139 points and has collected 173 loose balls. McCready showed his versatility as player in 2017 where he played on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

“I am very proud to be a part of this team, we are very determined to do whatever it takes to win and we I guarantee that we will be ready from day one,” said Joel McCready. “We have been building something special together and I think we are very close to reaching our ultimate goal.”

McCready was originally drafted 18th overall in the 2008 NLL Entry Draft by the Rochester Knighthawks. He is a veteran of 8 NLL seasons and has won Champion’s Cups in 2013 and 2014. He was acquired by the Stealth in the fall of 2014.

“Joel is a huge part of our franchise and we could not be happier today to have him signed for another two years,” said President and General Manager Doug Locker. “He is a great player, an unreal person and a superior teammate and we look forward to big things from him this season.”
