Vancouver, BC (Thursday, September 21, 2017) – The Vancouver Stealth want to congratulate defenceman Chris O’Dougherty on being named to TEAM USA’s Heritage Cup Team.
“I am extremely honored to be selected to represent my country at the Heritage Cup,” said O’Dougherty. “The feeling of putting on the USA jersey is truly humbling and motivating. I am looking forward to the challenge our team has in front of us.”
The 2017 Heritage Cup will take place in Hamilton, Ontario at the FirstOntario Centre on Saturday, October 21, 2017. The Cup will be awarded by the Canadian Lacrosse Association for the fourth time 2002, 2004, 2013 and 2017.
“The coaches and staff sat down and looked at the pool of players, and there are a few guys banged up who can’t play, but this is just one of many opportunities we’ll have to evaluate what we have,” said U.S. head coach Regy Thorpe. “We’ve got a good mix of veterans and younger players.”
