Stealth Drop Third Straight

(Toronto, ON – Friday, January 31, 2014) – The Vancouver Stealth (2-4) fall to the Toronto Rock (2-2) 17-12 at the Air Canada Centre on Friday night. The Stealth lose their third straight and the Rock improve to 2-0 at home, this season.

The Stealth came out flying in the first quarter outscoring the Rock 6-3 in the first 15 minutes of play, but it proved to be short lived. The Rock caught fire in the second quarter scoring four goals to the Stealth’s one.

It was 7-7 at half time but the Rock controlled the majority of the second half outscoring the Stealth 10-5, and outshot them 37-23. Garrett Billings had a big night for the Rock scoring five goals and four assists and was named the first star of the game. Cliff Smith and Rhys Duch led the way for the Stealth registering five points apiece in a losing effort. Smith received third star honors.

For a second straight game the Stealth struggled in the second half as they’ll look to reset quickly tomorrow night in Philadelphia. The Stealth take on the Wings at 4:30PM PST at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday night (February 1, 2014).
