Stealth Ready to Rock the East

Vancouver, BC (Thursday, March 23, 2017) – The Vancouver Stealth (5-7) visit the Toronto Rock (6-5) inside the Air Canada Centre on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 4:00pm.

The Stealth have not visited Toronto since March 13, 2016 which resulted in a low-scoring 9-6 Rock victory. 2017 has had a multitude of ups and downs for the Toronto franchise, winning four of the first five games of the season and most recently losing four of the last six. The Rock have one player in the top 10 in NLL scoring, Tom Schreiber has 18 goals, 39 assists and 57 points in 11 games. Toronto relies less on their offense than they do on goaltending and defensive play to win games.

Toronto is 3-4 in their home confides of the Air Canada Centre, while the Stealth look to improve their road record to 5-2. In the first six road games of 2017, Vancouver has averaged nearly 13 goals per game. Much like at home, on the road the Stealth are led by Rhys Duch and Corey Small who have combined for 34 goals, 50 assists and 84 points away from the Langley Events Centre.

Although winless against East Division rivals this season, the Stealth look to travel with a different mindset.

“It is always a great challenge to go back east and compete. We are using this game to refocus the team and our season,” said Captain Curtis Hodgson. “We are getting back to our team principles and ensuring we are playing within our system that has gotten us in a playoff position.”

Heading into Week 13, Vancouver is in the playoffs, holding a one-game lead over Calgary. After this weekend, the playoff race could be a lot clearer as the Roughnecks are playing back-to-backs visiting Saskatchewan on Friday and welcoming New England on Saturday.

Stay up-to-day with the Vancouver Stealth games on NLL TV and TSN Radio.

The Stealth will be back inside the Langley Events Centre next week on Friday, March 31, 2017, hosting the Rock for the first time this season in the second half of their home-and-home. Friday night will be student night, where anyone with a valid student ID will get 40% off bowl seating. Tickets are available at the Langley Events Centre Box Office at 604-882-8800, or Ticket
