Duluth, GA – April 28, 2018 – The Vancouver Stealth closed the 2017-18 season with an exciting game against the defending National Lacrosse League champions, the Georgia Swarm.
On Saturday night, the Swarm got on the board early scoring two minutes into the game and adding another at the nine-minute mark to take a 2-0 lead. The Stealth went on to score the next two goals to finish the first quarter in a 2-2 tie. Vancouver continued their roll in the second quarter, scoring 5 of 6 goals to close the half with a 7-3 lead.
Georgia answered back in the third outscoring the Stealth 6-2 and bringing the game to a 9-9 tie after three quarters. The Swarm outscored Vancouver 2-1 in the final quarter to close the season with an 11-10 Georgia victory.
Vancouver was led by Rhys Duch and Corey Small who each had 2 goals and 2 assists, Pat Saunders, Brandon Clelland and Tony Malcom had 1 goal and 1 assist, Brandon Goodwin, Casey Jackson and Evan Messenger had the other goals for Vancouver.

“The guys came out ready to work hard tonight. We really wanted to prove that our record does not reflect our compete level nor our talent,” said Assistant General Manager and Head Coach Jamie Batley. “We already have started the process of talking about protecting players, expansion, looking at players and focusing on the draft. Although our season is done, planning for next season starts tomorrow.”
