Vancouver, BC – The Vancouver Stealth have made a few appearances in the community during their weeks off at the end of February. They participated in Pink Shirt Day and made a trip to Prince George, BC for minor lacrosse registration weekend.
Captain Kyle Sorensen and fellow Stealth defensemen Matt Beers took to the streets of Vancouver on Pink Shirt Day to support the cause against anti-bullying. Sorensen and Beers were also joined by Bomber the Fox and many Stealth fans who were out showing their support.
In Prince George current Stealth defensemen and Prince George native, Jeff Moleski, was out to support minor lacrosse in his hometown, alongside teammate Mike Grimes and Stealth President and General Manager, Doug Locker.
Minor lacrosse registration took place from 12PM to 4PM at Pine Centre Mall Rec Mart, as young aspiring lacrosse athletes had the opportunity to meet two veteran defensemen in the National Lacrosse League. Moleski is currently in his tenth season, fourth with the Stealth organization and Mike Grimes who is in his eighth NLL season and sixth with the Stealth.
This weekend the Stealth host the Buffalo Bandits on Lacrosse Fights Cancer Night, as fans will have the opportunity to participate in a limited edition game worn jersey auction with proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Each game down the stretch for the Stealth is going to be important as the drive for the playoffs kicks into high gear. Come out and show your support for the fight against cancer and the Stealth’s push towards a playoff spot. Game time is 7PM PST on Saturday, March 29 at the LEC.
