The San Jose Stealth has signed veterans Curtis Hodgson, Peter Veltman and Luke Hinton to contracts for the 2009 season. Curtis Hodgson returns to the Stealth for his fifth season after scoring four goals and 10 assists for 14 points which were all career highs. His 95 loose balls were good for third most on the team. He has appeared in every game for the Stealth since arriving in 2005. Hodgson was selected as the Gord Nicholson Trophy winner in the Western Lacrosse Association as the WLA’s top defenseman in the summer of 2007 and 2008. In addition, he has been selected as a first team All WLA selection for the last four summers for the Burnaby Lakers. Peter Veltman begins his second season with San Jose and his sixth in the National Lacrosse League. Last season he appeared in nine games scoring seven goals and adding 13 assists for 20 points. He had played for four previous seasons with the Arizona Sting. Luke Hinton returns for his second season in San Jose and his third season in the NLL. He appeared in seven games in 2008 adding a goal and an assist to go along with his 14 loose balls. Hinton was originally drafted by the Calgary Roughnecks in the second round (14th overall) in the 2006 NLL entry draft and played in 11 games for the Roughnecks in 2007. “We are really pleased to have Curtis, Peter and Luke back with our organization in 2009 and look forward to having them contribute at a high level this season,” commented Assistant General Manager Doug Locker.
