The Washington Stealth announced six player signings today, including the five players selected in the recent National Lacrosse League Entry Draft and free agent goaltender Brandon Noble, pending league approval.

Noble has signed with the Stealth as a free agent after spending the 2011 summer season with the Brampton Excelsiors of Major Series Lacrosse in Ontario.  Noble appeared in four games for the Mann Cup Champions, posting a 6.96 goals against average and .810 save percentage in 138 minutes of action.  Noble logged 1525 minutes in three seasons of Junior ‘A’ lacrosse with the Barrie Lakeshores and Burlington Chiefs.

The Stealth reached a contract agreement with forward Mike Mallory, who was drafted in the third round (21st overall) of the 2011 NLL Entry Draft.  Mallory, a right-handed forward, provided a great deal of offensive production during his Junior ‘A’ lacrosse career with the Delta Islanders.  In two seasons of full time work for the Islanders, the 6’2”, 190-pound forward tallied 206 points (93g, 113a) in 49 games played.  He is a two-time, first-team BCLA All-Star (2010, 2011) and was named the BCLA Rookie of the Year in 2010.

Defenseman Adam McGourty also signed with the team today.  McGourty was selected in the third round (22nd overall) of the NLL Entry Draft. The right-handed defenseman from Brampton, Ontario spent three seasons with the Brampton Excelsiors Junior ‘A’ squad and recorded 36 points (13g, 23a) in 66 games.

The Stealth also inked its fourth round pick in the draft, forward Trevor Moore.  Moore, 23, is a native of Port Coquitlam, B.C., and played collegiate lacrosse at Robert Morris University.  The left-handed forward, was named the 2010 Northeast Conference Player of the Year after setting an RMU scoring record with 60 points (35g, 25a) in 15 games.

Brett Hickey, a right-handed forward picked by the Stealth in the fifth round of the draft, has also signed with the team.  The 6’2”, 210 pound Windsor, Ontario native put up huge numbers playing with Windsor in the Ontario Junior ‘B’ Lacrosse Association.  In 2011, he recorded 127 points (50g, 77a) in 20 games.  In six seasons with Windsor, the 21 year-old has tallied 352 points (151g, 201a) in 107 regular season games.

The Stealth’s sixth round selection in the draft is set for training camp as well.  New Westminster Salmonbellies product Justin Salt, a left-handed defenseman, has played three seasons with the Salmonbellies Junior ‘A’ squad and in 2011 showed his knack for scoring with 48 points (15g, 33a) in 27 games.

The six new members of the Stealth will join the team in training camp, which is scheduled to begin in December.  NLL rules allow each team to invite 40 players to training camp, with active rosters cut down to 23 players prior to the start of the season in January.

The Stealth opens the 2012 season on January 14, when the team hosts the Calgary Roughnecks at the Comcast Arena at Everett.  Season tickets for the 2012 Stealth season start at just $99 and are available by calling 877-MY-75-TIX or at www.stealthlax.com
