The San Jose Stealth announced today their revised schedule for the 2009 National Lacrosse League season. The Stealth are now opening their season at home, when they face Western Division rival Calgary Roughnecks on January 9, 2009. The change occurs after the suspension of the Chicago Shamrox 2009 season, which the Stealth was originally scheduled to play in Chicago on January 4, 2009.
While the home dates for the Stealth remain the same, the opponents will change. The Stealth play host to Rochester on January 18th and Edmonton on January 31st. February’s lone home contest will be against the Colorado Mammoth on the 21st. Colorado comes to town again on March 14th with Minnesota and Portland visiting the following two weekends, respectively. The final home contest of the season will be against Edmonton on April 10th.
The biggest changes in the 2009 schedule come on the road. The Stealth travel to Minnesota the day after the season opener for a 5:00pm PST start. The January 24th contest at Calgary remains the same as does the February 7th trip to Portland. The Stealth adds road games with Boston and New York, which take place on back-to-back days, February 28th and March 1st. in the final two games of the season, the Stealth travels to Colorado on April 11th and Toronto on April 17th.
Tickets for Stealth games are currently on sale at all Ticketmaster outlets and by calling 877-MY-SJTIX. Season tickets are still available for as low as $160 for all eight home games. For more information, visit the San Jose Stealth website at www.sjstealth
