The San Jose Stealth is committed to being a positive force in the community. Community Impact Day was created to bring awareness to local non-profit organizations and the need for volunteer support in our community.
The ONE organization and the Aids Coalition Silicon Valley have both teamed up with the Stealth to participate in Community Impact Day. Both non-profits will have a booth at the game and information available for volunteer and advocacy programs.
ONE is a grassroots campaign and advocacy organization committed to the fight against extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa. The group is very active in our community, in particular the students at Andrew P. Hill High School who have already put on several events to raise awareness on global poverty.
The Aids Coalition Silicon Valley is dedicated to being a leader in the local fight against HIV/AIDS while working to improve the lives of people affected by the pandemic. They strive to bring awareness to HIV/AIDS issues through the Walk for AIDS and their upcoming Silicon Valley Youth Leadership Summit on HIV/AIDS.
We hope that Community Impact Day will encourage Stealth fans become active volunteers, as many already are, and support our partners ONE and The Aids Coalition Silicon Valley.
Community Impact Day will take place on March 28, when the San Jose Stealth take on the Portland Lumberjax at the HP Pavilion. Face-off is scheduled for 12:30pm. Tickets are available by calling 877-MY-SJ-TIX or at www.sjstealth.com.
