On Friday, April 3, the San Jose Stealth will host a “Launch-A-Ball” contest to raise money for the Sticks-2-Schools program. Fans will be able to purchase a numbered tennis ball during the game and after the conclusion of the game versus the Minnesota Swarm, throw the ball at targets on the turf. Each target represents a prize that will be awarded to the person who lands in the target.
Prizes range from a Nintendo Wii and Apple iTouch to Chipotle Burrito Cards and Stealth T-Shirts. Other prizes include: a Guitar Hero Prize Pack, Flip Video, Seagate Portable Hard Drive, San Francisco Giants Tickets, Passes to California’s Great America, Def Leopard Tickets and much more. There are many chances to win. Tennis balls cost $5 each with all of the proceeds benefitting Sticks-2-Schools.
Sticks-2-Schools is a program designed to fight childhood obesity by provided a new and fun way to stay active. Sticks-2-Schools provides equipment, curriculum and instruction to Physical Education programs in the Greater Bay Area. Since 2005, Sticks-2-Schools has reached 79 schools and over 40,000 students.
