Disgusting. That’s really the only way I can describe our game on Saturday. I’m not gonna get into because I’m still really bitter about the loss and don’t want to say something I’ll regret but quite simply we were outplayed in every aspect of the game and it was embarrassing.
That being said, we did have a pretty exciting season. We struggled early on and at one point were sitting in last place with a 3-7 record after a couple road losses to Boston and New York and a home loss to Colorado. That’s when we turned things around by going 4-2 to end the season and with some help from Eastern teams beating Western teams managed to clinch a playoff spot with one game left in the season. We were basically playing every game like it was a playoff game during that stretch and it paid off. We then went into Portland and got some revenge on them for last year by beating them at home and knocking them out of the playoffs.
I’ll be blogging throughout the summer but I just want to take this opportunity to thank all of the Stealth fans out there that supported us this year. We may not have the most fans in the league but we do have the best! Without you, my teammates and I wouldn’t be able to play this sport we love all over North America in front of big crowds in huge arenas so thank you again.
Now it’s time for me to pack my stuff up and move back to Ottawa to start another season of lacrosse in the MLL. The last two years I played for the Rochester Rattlers but over the winter, they moved to Toronto to become the Nationals. Since the move our team has changed quite a bit but a lot of the core players from our Championship team in 2008 remain and hopefully we’ll be able to repeat as MLL Champions! Colin Doyle and I will both be playing this Friday in Washington to start the season off as we welcome fellow Stealth player Kyle Sorensen to the team.
