Washington Stealth

The Washington Stealth journey to the Champion’s Cup was mapped out today, as the 2010 National Lacrosse League season schedule was released.  The 16-game regular season begins at the Comcast Arena at Everett on January 9, and ends at the same place on April 24.

The NLL positions its schedule so that there are twelve divisional games and four interdivisional contests.  The playoffs will take place during the month of May, with dates, times and locations to be announced.  2010 will mark the 24^th season of professional indoor lacrosse.

The Stealth open the 2010 season against one of its biggest rivals, the Colorado Mammoth.  It is the first of two meetings between the teams in Everett, as they wrap up the season series at the Comcast Arena on March 27.

The Stealth’s first three contests will be played at home, as they face the Edmonton Rush on January 15 followed by the Buffalo Bandits on January 22.  Both Friday games will be played at 8pm PT.

The toughest stretch on the schedule comes midseason, with a five-game stretch that includes defending NLL Champion Calgary Roughnecks twice, Colorado twice and a trip to Boston to take on the 2009 East Division Finalist Blazers.  It begins February 19 when the Stealth host Calgary and ends with the March 27 matchup with the Mammoth.

The Stealth finish the season with a pair of home games, taking on Edmonton at home on April 17, with the Rochester Knighthawks coming to town the following weekend.  The complete season schedule is as follows (* denotes West Division Game):
