The Washington Stealth will team up with the Mukilteo Lacrosse Club this weekend to offer a field lacrosse clinic to youth, junior high and high school lacrosse players on Saturday, February 20.  The clinic is free and open to the public and features instruction from Stealth stars Jeff Zywicki and Lewis Ratcliff, as well as other members of the Stealth.

The clinic will take place in Goddard Stadium at Mariner High School in Everett.  There will be two sessions divided by age group.  Youth players up to eighth grade will take the field from 10:00am to 12:00pm, with the high school group in action from 12:00pm to 2:00pm.  Registration will take place on-site.

Zywicki is currently among the National Lacrosse League (NLL) leaders in points (47), goals (19) and assists (28) in seven games played this season.  Aside from his prowess in the indoor lacrosse game, Zywicki is equally accomplished in field lacrosse.  A two-time All-American at the University of Massachusetts, he went on to the 2006 World Field Lacrosse Championships and led Team Canada to the gold medal while earning All-World honors and the tournament Most Valuable Player award.  He has also won two championships in Major League Lacrosse (professional field lacrosse) in 2008 and 2009.

Ratcliff is in his ninth season in the NLL and harbors a reputation as one of the league’s most lethal scorers.  Like Zywicki, Ratcliff is among the league leaders is points (41), goals (18) and assists (23).  Ratcliff’s goal-scoring ability has also translated to the field game, where he scored 33 goals in ten games as a freshman at Radford University.  He also played a season in Major League Lacrosse, where he scored 23 goals in 11 games for the San Francisco Dragons.

Youth lacrosse players of all ages and skill levels are invited to attend this special event.  Goddard Stadium is located at 200 120th St. SW, Everett, WA.

Zywicki, Ratcliff and the rest of the Stealth take on Calgary in a big West Division battle the night before the clinic at the Comcast Arena.  Opening face-off is scheduled for 8:00pm PST on Friday, February 19.  Tickets start at just $13 and are available my calling 877-MY-75-TIX or at www.stealthlax.com.
