The Washington Stealth announced today its training camp schedule as they prepare for the 2011 National Lacrosse League season. Training camp will begin on December 3 and will provide fans the opportunity to get their first look at the 2011 roster, as three practice sessions will be open to the public.
Thirty-six players have been invited to training camp this season, many of whom were members of the championship team a year ago. Stealth Head Coach Chris Hall and his staff will have the difficult task of whittling the squad down to a 23-man active roster along with three members of the practice squad. The NLL deadline for roster submission is December 23.
It all begins on the weekend of December 3. Players will complete their physicals and take part in three practices throughout the weekend. The December 5 practice will be open to the public from 9am-11am at the Comcast Arena at Everett.
The second weekend of training camp will take place the following weekend, with practices taking place on December 11 and 12. Each day, there will be an open practice at the Comcast Arena. On December 11, practice will be open to the public from 10am-12pm. Later that evening, the Stealth will hold a closed scrimmage with the Colorado Mammoth. On December 12, an open practice will be held from 8:30am-10:30am prior to the annual Stealth Season Ticket Holder Party at the Everett Events Center.
The final weekend of training camp will take place on December 17, 18 and 19. Practices on December 17 and 19 will take place at the Community Ice Rink, while the practice on December 18 will be held at an off-site location. Each of these practice sessions are closed to the public.
