The Washington Stealth and Northwest Harvest are teaming up in the fight against hunger with a pair of food drives on March 23rd and 25th. Northwest Harvest will be the featured nonprofit organization during the Stealth’s March 25th game against the Boston Blazers at the Comcast Arena at Everett.
On March 23rd from 7-10am, members of the Stealth organization will join Northwest Harvest volunteers for a drive thru food drive in front of the Comcast Arena on Broadway Avenue in Everett. The group will be collecting food and monetary donations on Broadway. Individuals who donate will receive a ticket voucher for the Stealth game versus the Boston Blazers on March 25th. The voucher must be redeemed at the Stealth front office in the Comcast Arena by 12pm on Friday, March 25th.
At that game on March 25th, the Stealth will be celebrating northwest heritage and hosting a second food drive for Northwest Harvest.
“Northwest Harvest currently offers more than 700,000 client services each month across the state of Washington, up 35% since the start of the recession,” explains Shelley Rotondo, Northwest Harvest’s executive director. “We are grateful for the support of Stealth fans.”
Northwest Harvest is the only non-profit food bank distribution center operating statewide in Washington with a network of over 300 food banks, meal programs and at-risk elementary schools.
