Washington Stealth forward Rhys Duch and Director of Communications Michael Kennett visited Northwest Harvest's Cherry St. Food Bank today, helping to sort and distribute food to those in need. The Cherry St. Food Bank is the largest food bank in Washington State, serving nearly 30,000 people every month.
The visit kicked off a week of Northwest Harvest events for the Stealth. The team will be hosting a food drive on Wednesday, April 18, from 2-6pm at Safeway located on 41st and Rucker Avenues in Everett. Those that donate money or food items at the food drive will receive a ticket voucher to the Stealth game on April 20 at the Comcast Arena.
At the game on April 20, Northwest Harvest will be the featured non-profit organization. There will be a food drive and raffle fundraiser with all the proceeds going to Northwest Harvest. Fans that donate five food items or $5 will be entered into the raffle, which will feature numerous prizes, including the opportunity to perform the ceremonial ball drop at the 2013 Northwest Harvest event night.
