The Washington Stealth announced today that veteran forward Dean Hill has signed a one-year contract for the 2013 season, pending approval by the National Lacrosse League. Hill will be entering his eighth NLL season and his second with the Stealth in 2013.

Hill, 27, was signed by the Stealth as a free agent prior to the 2012 season. He played a significant role in the Stealth offense, recording 38 points on 17 goals and 21 assists in 13 games. It was the second-highest point total of Hill’s seven-year NLL career. His 37 loose balls in 2012 was a career-high. Hill recorded a hat trick against the Minnesota Swarm on February 24, sparking a tremendous second half of the season, during which he notched at least three points in eight of the Stealth’s final nine games.

This summer, Hill was part of the St. Regis Braves squad that won the President’s Cup (Canadian National Senior ‘B’ Lacrosse Championship). The Hagersville, Ontario native finished seventh in tournament scoring, tallying 26 points (16g, 10a) in five games. His summer performance has the Stealth excited about a strong 2013 for the left-handed forward.

“Dean had a successful season with us last year and after a very good summer culminating in winning the President’s Cup, should be even more of a factor in 2013,” said Stealth General Manager Doug Locker. “Dean is a proven veteran scorer whom we are counting on moving into the upcoming season.”

Hill has played for four teams (Minnesota, Rochester, Edmonton, Washington) during his NLL career. In 67 career games played, he has 184 points (96g, 88a) and 173 loose balls. He is also a two-time silver medalist with the Iroquois Nationals at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships (2007, 2011).

The Stealth begins the 2013 season on January 5, when it faces the defending NLL Champion Rochester Knighthawks at the Comcast Arena at Everett. Season tickets for the 2013 season start at just $99 and are on sale now. Call 877-MY-75-TIX or visit www.stealthlax.com for more details.
