Stealth forward and Academy Director Lewis Ratcliff leads a cast of coaches at the Stealth Lacrosse Academy this fall.
The Washington Stealth has announced the Stealth Lacrosse Academy in Woodinville this fall. Local youth lacrosse players of all ages and skill levels will be able to take part in 10-week weekend camps, all coached by Stealth All-Pro forward Lewis Ratcliff and some of the world’s best lacrosse players.
The Stealth Lacrosse Academy began in the Fall of 2010 with the goal of teaching area youth, who predominately play field lacrosse, the game of box lacrosse. The Academy has seen substantial growth in its short existence, reaching out to youth and high school lacrosse players throughout Western Washington and British Columbia. Ratcliff, the Academy Director, leads the box lacrosse instruction with the help of numerous Stealth teammates and coaches.
“The best lacrosse players in the world play both box and field lacrosse,” said Ratcliff. “There are so many skills that players learn in box that translate to the field game and we aim to give kids new skills and knowledge that they can use no matter where they play. The Academy gives players another opportunity to have their stick in their hands in a competitive environment and introduce some new faces to box lacrosse.”
The Stealth Lacrosse Academy’s fall season will boast a 10-week weekend camps at Woodinville Indoor Sports. The camp begins the weekend of September 7-8. Ratcliff and his team of coaches will cover all aspects of the game from shooting and passing to offensive and defensive strategy, and everything in between. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome. The camp costs just $325.
