Kevin Neufeld is ready for Stealth challenge

VANCOUVER, BC (Friday, September 27, 2013) – The Vancouver Stealth went to Robert Morris University with back to back picks at the 2013 NLL Entry Draft, as they took Tyler Digby 20th followed by Kevin Neufeld with the 22nd overall pick. Neufeld played a couple years alongside fellow draftee Tyler Digby and played a total of 36 regular season games with Robert Morris University.

“I am excited that Digby and I both got drafted to the Stealth,” said Neufeld,

“We became very good friends at school and I look forward to the opportunity to be able to play with him again, as well as the opportunity to play with all the other Stealth players.”

Neufeld grew up playing lacrosse in Coquitlam, British Columbia as a member of the Coquitlam Junior “A” Adanacs. He played in 84 games with the Adanacs scoring 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists) and recorded 191 penalty minutes. Neufeld played his entire junior career in Coquitlam and in 2010 he helped the Adanacs to their first ever Minto Cup title.

When it came time to move on to the senior level Neufeld stayed with the Adanacs where he played in the WLA this past year. Neufeld played in all 18 games with the Adanacs and when training camp comes around he’ll be looking to earn a spot with a new team and a new city.

“It's a great feeling to be drafted by the Vancouver Stealth,” said Neufeld,

“The opportunity to be able to stay on the west coast and play in front of friends and family is very exciting.”

Neufeld and Digby will be looking to continue their lacrosse careers together and close to home with the Stealth. The training is expected to take place at the end of October where both Robert Morris grads will be trying to earn spots and play many more years together on the same team.
