(Vancouver, BC – Thursday, January 16, 2014) – The Vancouver Stealth will look to stay perfect at home on Friday night when they host the Colorado Mammoth in their second of four meetings this season.
The Stealth will look to avenge a 13-12 loss to the Mammoth in their first game of the 2014 season, as they attempt to continue their dominance over the Mammoth at home. These two teams have had many battles over the years with the Stealth holding a 21-13 record overall and a 13-3 record on home turf.
Last weekend it was a perfect beginning for the Stealth at their new home, as they beat the Minnesota Swarm 8-5, earning their first win in Vancouver Stealth Franchise history. The crowd played a major factor and the Stealth would like to see that trend continue against the Mammoth this weekend,
“We had a bit of pressure on us, maybe even more so then the opponents even though we were playing in our home arena,” said Head Coach, Chris Hall about last weekend’s home opener.
“There was a lot of anticipation in the building and in the greater Vancouver area, with the return of the NLL to Vancouver.”
The return of the NLL to Vancouver meant a great deal to lacrosse fans across the Lower Mainland and Burnaby, BC native Ilija Gajic was happy to see his team come up with the win for the home crowd,
“Growing up in Vancouver there were a lot of people I knew in the stands, so it was great that we pulled out a 'W', that’s for sure," said Ilija Gajic.
The Stealth will be looking to improve to 2-1 on the season when they return to action at the Langley Events Centre Friday night, against the Mammoth. Game time is 8PM PST and doors open at 6:30PM.
Also, fans can use their game day tickets to get into the Pre-Game Festival beginning at 5PM PST. Come out and see the Stealth Bombshells perform, along with Bomber the Fox and much more.
