Burnaby, BC (Tuesday, June 24, 2014) – The Vancouver Stealth Bombshells and Bomber the Fox were out in the community again over the weekend, showing their support for lacrosse fans. They appeared at the Jean Andre Tournament at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex, in Coquitlam, on Friday, one of the largest minor lacrosse tournaments in British Columbia, the Burrards Blast Tournament at Pitt Meadows Arena, in Pitt Meadows, on Saturday, and a BC Junior ‘A’ Lacrosse game at the Bill Copeland Arena, in Burnaby, on Sunday.
Bomber and the Bombshells were a part of the opening ceremonies and other tournament festivities for the Jean Andre Tournament, as they met with some up and coming lacrosse stars in the Tyke and Mini Tyke divisions. At the Burrards Blast and the Junior ‘A’ game Bomber and the Bombshells were signing autographs for fans and promoting the Vancouver Stealth 2015 season.
In the BC Junior ‘A’ Lacrosse game, the Burnaby Junior ‘A’ Lakers came out firing in the first period peppering the Coquitlam Junior ‘A’ Adanacs with 21 shots in the opening frame but would only manage two goals. The Adanacs would bounce back in the second period and regained control of the game which led to an 8-6 victory and their 14th win of the season. The Adanacs remain three points back of the Salmonbellies for first place, while the Lakers sit near the bottom and have been eliminated from playoff contention.
Bomber and the Bombshells will make their next appearance on June 24 at the Poco Rec Centre in Port Coquitlam from 7:00pm – 9:00pm, where the Port Coquitlam Junior ‘A’ Saints will be facing off against the Burnaby Junior ‘A’ Lakers.
